This is a quality kit allowing you to convert your existing bike into an exciting E-bike. Just add a battery and you have all that you need. It is torque and cadence sensing to give a great riding experience. One of the big advantages with this motor is the much larger nylon final drive gear. This is a much stronger gear than that of other motors on the market. This kit has proved to be extremely popular, reliable and very versatile. Unlike most mid drive conversions available in the UK, this powerful and road legal mid drive conversion kit has been built to our specification. It carries full CE / ROHS certification. It is very light weight (3.8 kgs) and extremely quiet. This is genuine UK stock and is available for immediate dispatch. Mid motor kits are very versatile and capable of being fitted to a bike with any wheel size. You will need to remove the front derailleur mechanism and standard bottom bracket as they are no longer required. Once fitted you will find that your bike is very quick, but is still light and manoeverable when compared to a bike fitted with a hub motor. The centre of gravity remains very low and this helps the bike to handle and perform well on all types of surface. Bottom Bracket size 68 – 73mm. This is the most common bottom bracket size in the UK, but please check that your bikes bottom bracket is within this width range. Power Output – Switchable 250 / 500 watts. As the legal power limit for on road use in the UK is 250 watts, we have specified this kit to be switchable into two modes. Accessed via the LCD display, it can be switched to 250 watts for on road use and 500 watts for off road use. With a reduction rate of 1:21.9 and 90nm of torque available, this motor will climb hills extremely well and gives a very natural feel. In 250 watt mode, the speed is limited to a UK road legal 15.5 mph. In 500 watt mode, you are able to set your own desired top speed. This is exactly the same motor that is used in our premium kit. Our “Standard” range allows you to decide which options you wish to add, such as throttle and gearshift sensor. With a 4 inch LCD screen, an anodized alloy frame and separate control buttons. This display has proved to be a big improvement over the LCD screens offered with most kits. The separate buttons allow you to make changes easily on the move as they can be mounted in a convenient position. With a sturdy construction and crystal clear display, this unit not only looks very smart but is built to last. We include a pair of ebrake levers for cable operated brakes. These will cut power to the motor when you apply the brakes. If your brake levers have built-in gear shifters then this kit can be used without the ebrake levers and will operate normally. Another option is to fit one of the levers to the left side as the front shifter is no longer required. A larger chainring will allow you to ride quickly without a ridiculous pedal cadence. Most kits have a 42 tooth chainring and in our opinion are geared a little too low. Using the full range of your rear cassette gears, you will have a great range of gearing from low to high. 42 tooth chainwheels are available separately, item number. 5 Levels of pedal assist. This allows you to set the desired pedal assistance via the C800 display. If you wish to exercise harder, or increase your battery range, then set the assistance level lower. If you wish to take a leisurely ride, or climb some steep hills easily, then set it higher. You have a choice of 5 levels in 250 watt mode and a further 5 levels in 500 watt mode. The pedal assist levels can be changed easily on the move, so that you can lower the level when power is not needed and then raise it as you approach a hill. You can choose to add this to your kit but the motor will operate normally on pedal assist without it. A thumb throttle is much easier on your wrist when compared to a twist throttle. The sensor cuts power to the motor, for a split second, as you shift gears. It will save a lot of chain and sprocket wear as it allows a very smooth shift. More powerful motors can cause excessive wear and damage to the drivetrain when shifting gears on full power without a gearshift sensor.
