Heinzmann DirectDrive Electric Bike (e-bike) Conversion / Retrofit kit. Read this as it explains it better than me! The previous owner had it fitted around five years ago to the Airnimal. Having trialled it, I decided that Id prefer just to be able to ride the Airnimal and fold it too when needed. The whole conversion kit was removed professionally a couple of weeks ago by our local bike shop. The kit comprises of a wheel hub motor, a downtube compatible lithium battery pack, front light, LED handlebar display unit with push button controls, all wiring, spare lithium battery, two sets of keys for each battery pack and an operations manual. The wheel hub is currently fitted to a 24 wheel but this can be retrofitted to a different size wheel and adjusted accordingly. It has covered 8854km and the previous owner ensured that it was serviced annually by the original fitters of the e-kit. Note it is a downtube not pannier rack mounting kit – maybe this is possible?? The Heinzmann offers: power from regen. Braking, 3 levels of power assist and assisted pull away. The hub can be built into a front or rear wheel (so long as you havent got a Rohloff hub on the rear whelk, itd then have to fitted to the front wheel, like mine was). Motor type PRA 180-25. Motor nominal torque 11.4Nm and impulse torque 60Nm max. Lithium-ion battery, 6 hour charge. Hub motor weighs 4.5kg. I have not tested the range, but the previous owner said he could get a 50 mile range out of it, if used economically.
